“I was born in our Juche socialist homeland, discovered by the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, illuminated by the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong-il, and led by our Supreme Commander Comrade Kim Jong-un. Having graduated with excellent grades from the 12-year compulsory education system while in the warm embrace of the Mother Party, with no envy for the outside world, I had many dreams, ambitions, and paths to choose from. However, realizing that as long as class enemies like U.S. imperialists, Japanese imperialists, and South Korean puppet forces remain alive, our homeland's fate could once again be trampled under the invaders' military boots, I voluntarily enlisted in the heroic Korean People's Army with the determination to firmly defend the motherland with arms.
“From my first day of enlistment, starting with the care of the Great Leaders' sun portraits displayed in the education room, I have devoted my loyalty without missing a single day to prepare myself politically, ideologically, and militarily. I have spared no sweat of devotion in preparing to become a revolutionary soldier worth a hundred foes.
“To repay the great love and trust of the respected Comrade Kim Jong-un, who traverses dangerous mountain outposts where enemy guns lurk and rough seas to reach island posts, giving all possible love and consideration to our millions of soldiers, I pledge to prepare myself as a soldier worth a hundred foes with the unwavering spirit of defending the Supreme Leader to the death like the anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs.
